REMEDIAL MASSAGE
Remedial massage is a hands-on therapy that involves the systematic assessment and treatment of muscles, ligaments, tendons, joints, connective tissue, and nerves to restore balance and improve overall function.

This form of massage goes beyond relaxation, focusing on identifying the root cause of discomfort and applying tailored techniques to assist in recovery, rehabilitation, and long-term wellbeing. It is suitable for athletes, people with chronic conditions, those recovering from surgery, or anyone experiencing pain and tension from work or everyday life.
For Injury & Pain Relief:
Remedial massage can help manage both acute and chronic pain by addressing underlying muscular dysfunction. It reduces inflammation, improves blood flow, and promotes the breakdown and healing of scar tissue. Conditions such as whiplash, sciatica, arthritis, muscular atrophy, fibrositis, spondylitis, and sports-related injuries can all benefit from targeted remedial treatment.
For Recovery & Wellbeing:
By improving circulation and lymphatic drainage, remedial massage helps flush out waste products that cause muscles to tighten, speeds up recovery time for athletes and active individuals, and assists those living with lymphedema or recovering from cancer treatment. It also eases headaches, abdominal pain, low back discomfort, and muscle cramps.
Benefits of Remedial Massage:
-
Decreases pain and relieves chronic pain conditions
-
Prevents and manages sports and soft tissue injuries
-
Releases muscle tightness and tension
-
Increases blood flow and oxygen to the treatment area
-
Speeds up recovery for athletes and active people
-
Supports post-surgical healing by breaking down scar tissue
-
Assists lymphatic drainage, reducing swelling in affected areas
-
Helps manage conditions such as arthritis, spondylitis, fibrositis, and sciatica

Remedial massage is both corrective and preventative, making it an excellent option for anyone wanting to reduce pain, recover from injury, and improve overall quality of life.

Possible Side Effects: Mild muscle soreness, temporary stiffness, or slight bruising may occur as tissues adjust. Increased urination can also occur due to improved circulation & lymphatic drainage.
SPORTS THERAPY
Sports massage is a targeted treatment designed for both athletes and active individuals. Unlike relaxation massage, it can be more vigorous and focused, working to stretch tight muscles, stimulate inactive muscles, and improve the condition of soft tissues.

The aim is to reduce the stress and tension that build up in the body during training, competition, or everyday activity. By addressing muscular imbalances and strain, sports massage helps keep the body performing at its best while reducing the risk of injury.
For Athletes:
Sports massage is an essential part of training and recovery. It enhances circulation, supports muscle repair, improves flexibility, and helps athletes recover faster while performing at their peak.
For Everyday People:
Sports massage isn’t just for professionals. It can ease muscle aches, repetitive strain, and stiffness from work, gym sessions, or an active lifestyle. It’s also highly effective for those in physically demanding jobs who want to stay pain-free and mobile.
Benefits of Sports Massage:
-
Increases endurance and flexibility
-
Improves performance and recovery
-
Reduces the chance of injury
-
Speeds healing after injury
-
Relieves muscle tightness, aches, and fatigue

Whether preparing for an event, recovering after training, or simply wanting to move more freely, sports massage offers a focused approach to keeping your body strong, balanced, and ready for action.

With over 21 years of professional experience, I have had the privilege of working with elite teams such as the Brisbane Broncos, Queensland State of Origin Team, Queensland Reds, and Brisbane Bullets.

This background has given me a deep understanding of the demands athletes face and the importance of effective recovery and injury prevention.

Possible Side Effects: Temporary muscle soreness, tenderness, or fatigue following a deep session. Some clients may also experience slight bruising if the tissue was very tight.
DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE
DRY NEEDLING
Deep tissue massage is a therapeutic technique designed to target the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. It is especially effective for treating musculoskeletal issues such as strains, sports injuries, and chronic areas of tension that don’t always respond to lighter massage techniques.
Using slow, firm pressure and sustained strokes, this style of massage helps to break down scar tissue, release adhesions, and reduce tightness in muscles and fascia. By working deeply into problem areas, it restores mobility, eases pain, and supports the body’s natural healing processes.
For Injury & Chronic Pain:
Deep tissue massage is highly effective for managing conditions such as repetitive strain, postural imbalances, sports injuries, and ongoing back or neck pain. It works to relieve muscle dysfunction, reduce inflammation, and encourage faster recovery.
For Overall Wellbeing:
Although more intensive than relaxation massage, deep tissue therapy also provides psychological benefits. By releasing built-up tension, it calms the nervous system, reduces stress, and allows you to unwind mentally while achieving significant physical relief.
Benefits of Deep Tissue Massage:
-
Relieves chronic muscle tension and stiffness
-
Breaks down scar tissue and adhesions
-
Improves flexibility, posture, and mobility
-
Reduces inflammation and supports recovery
-
Eases pain from injuries, back and neck issues
-
Promotes stress relief and deep relaxation

Deep tissue massage combines corrective treatment with restorative benefits, making it ideal for both injury management and overall wellbeing.

Possible Side Effects: Temporary soreness, stiffness, or mild bruising may occur in the treated area. Some clients may also feel tired as the body releases stored tension.
Dry needling — sometimes referred to as Western Acupuncture — is a modern therapeutic technique used by many massage therapists and physiotherapists to relieve myofascial pain and dysfunction. It involves the use of a fine, solid filament needle (similar to those used in acupuncture), which is inserted into the skin and underlying tissues to specifically target muscular trigger points.

By releasing these tight, sensitive points within the muscle, dry needling helps to restore normal tissue function, improve mobility, and reduce pain. The primary goal is to stimulate the body’s own healing response, enhance circulation, and correct poor muscle function that, if left untreated, can lead to further strain or injury.
For Pain & Injury Recovery:
Dry needling is often combined with other hands-on therapies to maximise effectiveness. It has been shown to reduce muscular pain, support tissue healing, and speed recovery from injury by directly addressing the source of dysfunction within the muscle.
For Overall Wellbeing:
Extensive scientific research supports the benefits of dry needling, including evidence that it can inhibit the transmission of pain signals in the spinal cord and stimulate the release of natural pain-relieving chemicals in the brain. This not only decreases discomfort but also promotes relaxation and improved overall function.
Benefits of Dry Needling:
-
Reduces myofascial pain and muscular tension
-
Releases tight trigger points in muscles
-
Restores normal tissue function and movement
-
Promotes tissue healing and recovery
-
Helps prevent further muscular strain or damage
-
Stimulates the body’s natural pain-relieving responses

Dry needling is a safe and effective technique that can be tailored to a wide range of needs — from injury rehabilitation to the relief of everyday muscular pain.

Possible Side Effects: Mild bruising, temporary soreness at the needling site, or light fatigue or dizziness. Occasionally, clients may experience a small twitch response during treatment, which is a normal release of tension.

CUPPING

.

Cupping therapy is an ancient healing practice that has become increasingly popular among athletes and everyday people alike. Using special cups to create gentle suction on the skin, this treatment helps release tight muscles, improve circulation, and encourage the body’s natural healing processes.
For Athletes:
Cupping is often used as part of recovery and performance care. By reducing muscle tension and promoting faster removal of metabolic waste, it can ease soreness, enhance flexibility, and support quicker recovery after training or competition. Many athletes also find it helps prevent injuries by keeping muscles and connective tissues supple and well-oxygenated.
For Everyday People:
Cupping is not just for elite athletes — it can be highly beneficial for anyone experiencing muscular aches, stiffness, or stress from daily activities. It may relieve back and neck discomfort, support relaxation, and improve overall wellbeing, making it a versatile therapy for a wide range of needs.
Benefits of Cupping Therapy:
-
Reduces muscle tension, soreness, and stiffness
-
Promotes circulation and lymphatic flow
-
Supports faster recovery and healing
-
Eases stress and encourages relaxation
-
Enhances mobility and flexibility

Whether you’re training hard or simply looking to ease everyday tension, cupping provides a safe, effective, and restorative treatment that supports both physical and mental wellbeing.

Possible Side Effects: Temporary circular marks or bruising at the cup sites, mild tenderness, or light fatigue after treatment. These effects are normal and generally resolve within a few days.
